Gluten Free
An increasing number of the population is becoming
sensitive to Gluten, and further developing Coeliac disease. Gluten
is present in all wheat, as well as, to a lesser extent, in Rye, Oats,
Barley. etc. At Sunnyvale Bakery we also bake breads that are Gluten
Free. These are Mixed Grain and Spicy Onion varieties, baked using Organic
Maize flour, as well as Organic Rice, both using the sourdough process,
hence are also yeast free. Recently added to the varieties are: Flax
Corn Rice, Sesame Corn Rice and Sunflower Corn Rice. Flax (or Linseed
as we know it in the UK) is high in Omega 3 oils. Newly launched is
a Hemp variety. All our Gluten Free breads contain Linseed. Just launched
in Jan 2001 are 2 delicious Gluten Free cakes, as well as a Pudding
at Christmas time.
